Massimo Sgrelli

Massimo Sgrelli began to work on the Internet in 1991 while studying Computer Science at the
Università Degli Studi di Milano. He started his professional career in Telecom Italia, then Accenture.
He abandoned the corporate world to join his first startup in 2000 (during the New Economic time).
In 2001 he created his first company following his passion for scalable systems architectures for the
big enterprise.
Meanwhile, he began traveling to the United States and making small personal investments in the
Silicon Valley startups founded by Italians. In 2012 he left his company to launch a new tech startup
in California.
In 2017 Massimo co-founded Lombardstreet Ventures (https://lombardstreet.io), a US venture
capital firm based in Menlo Park ( CA) that bets alongside investors such as Andreessen Horowitz,
Greylock Partners, Sequoia, Lightspeed, CRV, KPCB, and many more.  
Today Massimo lives between Italy and California, aiming to bring back the models and experience
of Silicon Valley to Italy and inspiring Italian startups to think big.

https://thevalley.substack.com) where he interacts with thousands of startups.
